Chcą sprawdzić nową technologie Microsoftu, która w żaden sposób nie działa na moim XP HE, z menu bootowania wybrałem “Windows 2008 Server”. Jakiś czas temu pisałem o możliwości uruchomienia trybu Aero w tym systemie, bowiem jest to “stuningowana” Vista (podobnie było z wersją 2003). Samego Windowsa po instalacji i dodania gadżetów z Visty przez dość długi czas nie uruchamiałem, ani nawet nie aktywowałem. Dziś rano po zalogowaniu się, otrzymałem taki oto komunikat:
po czym pojawiło okienko do wyboru sposobu aktywacji. Okazało się, że mój klucz jest już używany w innej kopii Okienek. To dość zabawne, bowiem Windows 2008 jest w fazie betatestów i wg licencji mogę go zainstalować na jednym kluczu na 10 maszynach. A ja ten system mam tylko na jednej… Dobrze, że istniała możliwość uruchomienia przeglądarki, przez co na stronie Microsoftu wygenerowałem sobie nowy klucz. I tu kolejna niespodzianka. Klucz został przyjęty, system aktywowany, a… Aero nadal uważało, że system nie jest do końca legalny. Restart też niczego nie zmienił. Co ciekawe, Windows jest aktywny, ale w systemowym okienku nadal mam link “Get genuine…”.
Trochę pogooglowałem, jednak niczego na ten temat znaleźć nie mogłem. Uważam, że można to wytłumaczyć na dwa sposoby:
- Okna są w fazie testów i w wersji finalnej wszystko zostanie zapięte na ostatni guzik włącznie z trybem Aero,
- Aero choć jest w Windowsie 2008 to jednak nie ma być częścią systemu objętą licencją i kluczem na ten produkt i może nie być dostępna w końcowej wersji
Drugi krok nawet miałby głębszy sens w przypadku publicznego udostępnienia ewaluacyjnej, finalnej wersji nowych serwerowych Okien, tak jak to ma aktualnie miejsce z edycją 2003 – zatrzymałoby to masowe ściąganie przez zwykłych ludzi darmowego i w pełni funkcjonalnego systemu operacyjnego na pół roku. Cóż, czas pokaże…
